What's so Super about Super Greens?

Superfoods are packed with nutritious treats that can benefit your health and wellbeing by helping to improve your energy levels, reduce sugar cravings and can provide an overall sense of wellbeing throughout your mind and body. Superfoods can vary from fish to dairy, but most are plant-based foods like leafy greens, fruits, herbs, mushroom and plant based digestive enzymes. You’ve probably come across the term super greens on your quest to find the healthiest foods you should be eating. Well, super greens refers to some of the most nutritious superfoods:

Spirulina is packed with over 100 nutrients and derived from plant plankton; a blue-green micro-algae. It’s so nutritionally dense that NASA had their astronauts on space missions take spirulina as a daily supplement. This super green contains all the amino acids that are necessary for human health, including the 8 essential amino acids our bodies can’t produce on their own and have to be replaced daily by our diet. It’s also a great source of iron and protein for vegans; 100g of spirulina yields 50-70% protein and it contains 12 times more iron than beef steak. Spirulina is the richest source of Vitamin A and E and contains 11 vitamins, 10 minerals, 18 amino acids and the omega-3 fatty acids, DHA and EPA. All in all Spirulina's wide deposit of essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients definitely puts the super in super greens.

Chlorella contains more chlorophyll than most known foods, more Vitamin B12 than liver, as well as beta-carotene, polyunsaturated fatty acids, and 19 amino acids - including all 8 essential ones. It’s high fibre content supports healthy digestion and an overall digestive tract health and its high levels of RNA and DNA supply nucleic acid for cell rejuvenation, growth and repair, all vital for helping you look younger for longer. Chlorella is also a rich source of calcium, iron, selenium and zinc. It helps support detoxification by binding with heavy metals and pesticides (like PCBs) which can accumulate in our bodies. Overall, Chlorella’s high nutrient content, cleansing actions of the bowel and other elimination organs, and its protection of the liver help to keep our blood free of impurities and our immune systems strong.

Barley Grass & Wheat Grass are both rich in many of the B vitamins, which are essential for managing energy levels, metabolism and mood. Plus they’re packed full of minerals, antioxidants, chlorophyll and fibre. They’re known for their ability to help the body regain its natural alkaline balance and have also been shown to be beneficial for supporting good digestive function and promoting our circulatory system.

Overall super greens are easily absorbed by our bodies and are packed full of nutrients, minerals, vitamins, amino acids, enzymes and antioxidants that are known to improve our overall sense of health and wellbeing. They’re believed to help boost our immunity, offer support for vital detoxification, improve our digestive health and reduce high blood pressure and inflammation.

Should I be taking Super Greens?

It’s estimated that 1 in 4 people do not get the recommended 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, meaning they may lack a number of valuable vitamins, minerals and nutrients that our bodies need to remain healthy. Unfortunately, man-made vitamins and minerals, which are becoming a growing substitute for a balanced diet, tend not to be readily absorbed by the body. The human body does not know how to deal with them and so cannot use them properly, meaning a lot of them will simply pass through the body unabsorbed. This could mean a waste of money and your body still isn’t getting the proper nutrients that it needs.

Whole foods, balanced by nature, in their natural organic state can provide us with the nutrients and energy we need to help offset ailment and achieve optimum health. Of course, eating more fruit and vegetables and making sure to maintain a balanced diet is always a good idea, and should be the first thing you do to improve your health. But for those times when you don’t quite have the time, a natural greens supplement is a great way to top-up and guarantee your body a healthy, low-fat snack drink.

The easiest way to get your greens is to mix Super greens powder in nourishing smoothies. You can mix with water or juice to give you all the fuel you need to keep going. Plus, if you’re low on time, they’re also available in capsules, so you can keep your body healthy on-the-go.

Organic Whole Food Multivitamax is a whole food formula of certified organic superfoods to provide your body with a complete range of vitamins, minerals, metals, enzymes, grasses, seaweed, algae, fruit, herbs and green tea leaf extract.

Our whole food super green formula contains algae and green vegetables that are rich in Vitamins A and C and help defend your body against environmental stressors such as pollution. A variety of heavy metals are present in the environment which can accumulate in the body. Over time, excessive exposure to heavy metals can overwhelm the body and can contribute to inflammation and an increased risk of disease. Studies have shown that Chlorella and Spirulina can collect these metals and stop them building up in our soft tissue.

In addition, Chlorella has shown to increase the activity of natural killer cells, a type of white blood cell that protects us against infection.

All of this in an easy to take convenient capsule, no chopping, blending, washing up or mess involved.

Organic Super Greens Plus Marine D consists of organic super greens and each capsule contains a full day’s nutrition of 5 servings of vegetables with a superblend of organic greens, including Seagreens seaweed, artichoke, chlorella, spirulina, green tea leaf, ashwagandha root and cayenne pepper.

It delivers a staggering 92 of the body’s 102 essential minerals including iodine, calcium, zinc and potassium, selenium, phosphorus, manganese and B complex vitamins. Iodine is not stored in our bodies and must be replenished daily. It is essential for our energy and metabolism and research shows many of us, especially women, may not be getting enough of it.

In addition to containing the antioxidants Vitamin A, C and E vital for immunity and protecting your body against cell damage, seaweed boasts a wide variety of beneficial plant compounds, flavonoids and carotenoids. Including a particular carotenoid called fucoxanthin which has been shown to protect cell membranes better than Vitamin A.

Our seaweed super greens formula promotes a healthy immune system, and helps boosts mood, health and wellbeing.
